Your 3D objects in FAST XR

Import your own 3D objects in GLB format from the FAST XR dashboard. They sync with the headset and are placed in the mixed reality room, like the objects in the FAST XR library. They are recorded in your scenarios.

3D GLB objects imported into FAST XR: fire suppression device, barrel, construction projector, electrical cabinet, technical room
Each item displays its category, placement, actual size, and weight.

Use case

The fire spreads among your trainees, in the middle of their equipment

A trainee reacts better to what they know. With your own 3D objects, the situation simulation resembles their real workplace.

Electrical risk

The client site cabinet

Place the model of the real electrical cabinet and trigger the cut-off reflex before the fire attack.

Industry and logistics

Machines, tanks, shelves

Reconstruct a workshop or warehouse: work station, product barrels, storage, with the actual dimensions.

Detection and extinction

Detectors and sprinklers

Hang them on the ceiling at their actual location to talk about detection, alarm and triggering.

Construction and Public Works

Construction equipment

Projector, generator set, tools: the fire’s departure takes place in a believable construction site setting.

Technical facilities

Heating system, technical area

Add pumps, networks and equipment to work on the intervention in a cluttered space.

Client appointment

Show your equipment

As a demonstration, place your prospect’s equipment in the room: they immediately get immersed in the training.

How it works

From the GLB file to the part, in four steps

Everything is done from the «My Objects» tab in your FAST XR dashboard.

FAST XR dashboard: 3D Objects library with models imported by the trainer
The «My Objects» tab in the FAST XR dashboard.
  1. Import the .glb file. The 3D preview and the vignette are generated automatically; the file is checked before sending.
  2. Adjust the name, category, placement, and actual size of the object, in meters. The helmet displays it at that size.
  3. In the helmet, Open the FAST XR tablet: the object appears after the synchronization. Select it, position it in the room, place it.
  4. Record your script. The object remains there, in its place, from one session to the next.
On the ground

The object is placed on the floor: electrical cabinet, tank, shelf, machine.

At the ceiling

The object is suspended: detector, sprinkler, lighting, fan.

Free

The object is placed in the air or held in hand: tools, small equipment.

  • Up to 50 items per trainer
  • Size or placement can be modified without having to re-import
  • File replaced: Your scenarios display the new version
  • Internet only for syncing, then the objects remain in the headset

Prepare your models

Where to find your 3D objects

  • Blender: File › Export › glTF 2.0, binary glTF format (.glb), without Draco compression.
  • Sketchfab: Download the model in the glTF / GLB format.
  • Your design files: export them to .glb from your 3D software.

Compressed files (Draco, KTX2, Meshopt), glTF 1.0 and external textures are not accepted. The dashboard will notify you before sending.

Frequently asked questions

What 3D objects can I import?

Any model in .glb format (glTF 2.0 binary), up to 25 MB and 200,000 triangles. The dashboard checks the file before sending and generates the preview and thumbnail.

I am changing the size or placement: do I need to re-import it?

No. The helmet applies the change the next time it is loaded, without reloading the model.

Should the helmet remain connected to the Internet?

Only for synchronization. Then, the objects are kept in the headset and work offline.

What happens if I delete an object used in a scenario?

The scenario remains valid: a reference appears in place of the deleted object.
